Step by step
Seven steps from your enquiry to a successful start within the team.
International recruitment is predictable when every step is clearly assigned. Here you can see the full path in seven steps: what happens at each stage, what we handle and what remains with you. The time frames given are rough guide values; the actual course depends on language level, recognition and the authorities.
Step by step
Every step has a clear role. We take on most of them.
The seven steps of working together
Step 1: Initial consultation & requirements
We clarify the vacancy, the professional requirements, the timeframe and the general conditions. You receive an honest assessment of whether and how this route works for you. We also review your suitability as an employer in advance.
- The employer's role
- Describe your needs, requirements and general conditions.
- OFR's role
- Structure your needs, assess feasibility and outline a realistic route.
Typical duration: a few days
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 2: Selection & introduction
We introduce you exclusively to vetted candidates whose qualification can be recognised, each with a fully prepared profile. You save yourself the screening and preliminary review.
- The employer's role
- Review the profiles.
- OFR's role
- Pre-selection, review of documents and suitability, and profile preparation.
Typical duration: depending on the availability of suitable profiles
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 3: Decision & fit
You make the choice and conduct the interviews. We align the expectations of both sides so that the working relationship holds from the very start.
- The employer's role
- Select a candidate and conduct the interviews.
- OFR's role
- Align the expectations of both sides, secure the fit and prepare the working relationship.
Typical duration: a few weeks
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 4: Language & preparation
The professional learns German up to level B2. In parallel, we prepare the documents for recognition.
- The employer's role
- usually little effort; we keep you informed.
- OFR's role
- Organise German lessons and compile the documents for recognition.
Typical duration: several months, depending on the starting level
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 5: Recognition (the MPhG)
The authority examines whether the qualification is equivalent to the German training (this is based on the professional act, the MPhG — the German Masseur and Physiotherapist Act). If it identifies substantial differences, an adaptation measure follows: a knowledge examination or an adaptation course (no more than 3 years). We support you through the procedure.
- The employer's role
- where applicable, cooperation as the future employer.
- OFR's role
- Coordinate the procedure with the competent recognition authority of the federal state, and manage documents and appointments.
Typical duration: several months; longer if an adaptation measure is required The binding decision rests with the authority.
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 6: Visa: the fast-track procedure (Section 81a AufenthG)
The fast-track procedure for skilled workers under Section 81a of the German Residence Act (AufenthG) can significantly shorten the waiting time for the visa. You, as the employer, initiate it, usually by power of attorney at the competent immigration authority (Ausländerbehörde); the authority obtains the preliminary approval. We prepare everything so that your effort stays small.
- The employer's role
- Initiate the procedure (grant power of attorney) and, as the employer, contribute declarations and documents.
- OFR's role
- Prepare documents, coordinate appointments and guide you through the process.
Typical duration: The fast-track procedure aims for processing within ≤ 4 months; the subsequent visa procedure is often considerably shorter. These figures are for guidance only, not a commitment.
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmedStep 7: Arrival & integration
Relocation, dealings with the authorities, settling in at the workplace: we support your new professional until the professional licence to practise is in place and the start within the team has succeeded.
- The employer's role
- Provide the workplace and on-the-job training.
- OFR's role
- Support arrival, dealings with the authorities and integration.
Typical duration: ongoing support during the first months
Placeholder, to be confirmed before go-live: to be confirmed
